California Highway Patrol Police Helicopter Pilot

These pilots also perform police work like arresting, testifying, and writing police reports. This role is much like the federal police roles where the pilot is a police officer first and a pilot second.

Requirements

-must be hired as a CHP officer first

-must service 2 years before being selected as a pilot

-commercial pilot certificate (fixed wing or rotary wing) with instrument rating

-Class II medical

-additional flight training will be needed once selected
