Aerial Surveillance Pilot

Role

Stationed at McQuire Air Base (WRI). Aerial Surveillance Pilots assist other agencies and FBI agents on missions through surveillance of targets and searches/surveying. With this surveillance comes a need to understand specialized equipment like thermal sensors and camera equipment that these agent pilots must also use in their missions. These Aerial Surveillance Pilots are FBI agents first and pilots second.

Requirements

-Civilian Comm + Instrument rating (fixed wing)

-Class II medical

-500 hours (350 in fixed wing)

-preference for those candidates with experience in surveying/surveillance and usage of specialized camera equipment

Tactical Aviation Pilot

Role

Tactical Aviation Pilots are a part of the Tactical aviation unit which itself is a support unit for those units in the Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG) like SWAT and Hostage Rescue Team. These pilots fly domestically and internationally conducting surveillance missions in support of the mission of the other units in the CIRG. Some of these pilots fly within the Tactical Helicopter Unit working closely with the Hostage Rescue Team. They may also assist SWAT and must train regularly to keep flying skills up to date. Other jobs of the Tactical Aviation Unit may include medevac and suspect pursuit. A Tactical Aviation Pilot is an FBI Special Agent first and a pilot second.

Requirements

-must be FBI special agent

-passing a physical fitness test

-preferred military or other experience in tactical operations

-FAA Private Pilot License (will be chosen to train for instrument rating and commercial license)

-Class II medical
